Problem Statement
The problem is the significant challenge school students face in effectively identifying and pursuing suitable career paths that align with their interests, skills, and values while accounting for emerging job markets and technological advancements.
This challenge is exacerbated by the lack of personalised and comprehensive career guidance strategies, leading to indecision, dissatisfaction, and suboptimal career outcomes.
As a result, an urgent need is to develop and implement innovative strategies and interventions that empower students to make informed and confident career choices, enhancing their overall academic and professional achievements.
Career Compass App
The problem identified is the issue of school students finding a suitable career that always matches their interests, skills, and values.
Recent polls suggest 93% of students were aware of fewer than ten job alternatives, primarily the fundamental ones such as engineering, medical, law, finance, and information technology (Brainwonders, n.d.).
A mobile app was designed to assist school students in finding a path that is best suited for them. The app is intended to help students find a career and provides additional resources. Students can also connect with accredited guidance counsellors and find the help they need as they navigate the new journey in their lives.
